The mission was to design a digital hub for intelligent entertainment that brings users closer to the heart of Discovery channel. The themes we had to work with were "immersive", "adventure" and "topical".
We set out to establish a graphical framework with immersive imagery and engaging typography. Discovery Networks UK wanted to be able to skin the entire framework for shows, special events or advertising opportunities.
We split up the visual framework into "acts";

Interactive Programming Guide — order, control, overview
Blog/News — Topical, Educational
- Create a stage that puts the active content in focus (immersive)
- Create a stage that feels endless regardless of user screen size
- Create a stage with depth (coloured background, depth of ﬁeld)
- Use large imagery
- Tactile feel, instant visuel feedback on interaction
- Create a distinct visual drama for the different “acts”
