Lighting Exercise

A private laboration for the purpose of getting to know Unified Sampling and exercising interior lighting using unconventional/unnatural sources. Amazing quality for such short render times, even using a lot of blurred reflections and conventionally slow to render shading networks.

Using Mental Ray string options in Maya for Unified Sampling and being able to utilize Irradiance Particles together with FInal Gather was a true timesaver on some recent projects.

Concept heavily inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Oddyssey.
